ZF 8 speed in my L405 is hesitating and I swear I can hear my wallet crying from the other room

My 2015 Range Rover Supercharged has been my daily for the last four years and aside from the usual air suspension anxiety and the occasional electrical ghost in the infotainment it’s actually been a pretty solid truck but about two weeks ago I noticed that when I’m rolling to a stop and then get back on the throttle lightly like you do a hundred times in Sharjah traffic the transmission just kind of pauses for an awkward second before deciding which gear it wants to be in and then it engages with this little thud that you can feel through the whole chassis and my wife who usually doesn’t notice anything about cars asked me what that clunk was so you know it’s getting noticeable. I’ve been reading the Range Rover forums and everyone says the ZF 8HP is supposed to be one of the best autos ever made but it’s also super sensitive to fluid level and condition and if it’s even a liter low or the fluid has broken down from the heat the valve body starts acting up and the adaptations go haywire and before you know it you’re looking at a mechatronic replacement that costs more than a used Corolla. I had the transmission serviced at a well known independent in Al Quoz about 60k kilometers ago so it’s probably due again but I honestly don’t have the time or the energy to drive all the way across Dubai in this traffic just to be told I need to leave the car for a week and take out a small loan. A friend of a friend mentioned he’d seen https://gearboxrepairsharjah.ae/brands/range-rover/ when he was dealing with a similar issue on his Sport and said they seemed to know the ZF units inside out but I’d really like to hear from someone who’s actually had their Range Rover gearbox looked at by a shop in Sharjah before I commit to anything because the last thing I need is some generic garage throwing in the wrong fluid and making the hesitation ten times worse while charging me premium prices. Anyone in the area had a positive experience with a transmission specialist on this side of the creek or should I just accept that I’ll be spending my Saturday mornings in Al Quoz traffic for the foreseeable future.
